Much has happened since we last updated the blog: Mom and Dad went back to work; Chubbles started "school;" Chubbles started crawling like a pro; she can sit up on her own (for the most part); she's just starting to pull herself up; Abuelo taught her to wave by opening and closing her hand; she says "da-da-da-dad" and (less often :( ) "ma-ma-ma" - not necessarily for us yet, but we're getting closer; Jahan went in a real swing for the first time (completely uninterested); she started reading the New York Times (see picture); she had (and still has) her first ear infection; and she had her first haircut (Dan made me snip her bangs since they were getting really long - I did a terrible job and then inadvertently threw away the hair from her first cut).
Jahan has been doing really well in school. She has lots of friends, loves her teachers, and is really excelling in math, science, and crawling. It's hard not to be home with her, but at least I get to stay home one day a week. Here are some things she really loves these days:
- riding in her new backpack (see picture)
- punching, kicking, and going for her mom and dad's jugulars in her sleep
- riding on her toy moose
- trying to eat shoes and other dirty things
- squirting herself with her bottle
- splashing in the tub
- sticking her tongue out and keeping it out
And here are some things she does not like:
- getting dressed
- having her diaper changed
- taking medicine
- having her nose wiped
- being left alone in a room, even for a split second
Oh - one other update. When we were in Cape Cod, we discovered a tiny white dot on her bottom gum, which we assumed was a tooth. For some reason - maybe because she's teething and her gums are swollen - it has since disappeared :(
